0Congregation Mikveh Israel, the second oldest synagogue in North America, honored its retiring parnas (synagogue president) Leon Levy with the first Haym Solomon Award at a gala banquet at the National Museum of American Jewish History on Sunday, December 4. The Sephardic synagogue, founded in 1740, is located at 4th and Market Streets in Philadelphia. (more…)
